Legumes.org is an entry site for the integration of legume crop-species sequence data with the model legumes whose genomes are currently being sequenced: Glycine max (soybean), Medicago truncatula, and Lotus japonicus. Data from the genome projects will be integrated with data from gene-discovery projects, presenting a resource for smaller projects shown in the context of major sequencing efforts.
As part of the Consensus Legume Database Project, the LegCyc database is being developed. This resource will be built on public legume genome and transcriptome data using the BioCyc model of automated pathway annotation. As LegCyc develops, species comparisons will be possible, and information will be linked with other resources (e.g., Reactome, KEGG Pathways). At present, the information from the JGI soybean project is included. New species annotations will be posted here.
